TRUCK RACING NEWS
November 23, 2007
from Team Nemesis
Nemesis took the year off. I am really looking forward to the next years racing season and we are going to come back even stronger than we have been performing.
2006 was a very successful season with over 15 round victories and several class wins.
The last race for the truck and the original powerplant was Kempton PA. The motor was eating itself up inside. Later we found two broken rocker arms but still pushed on to win the class on 6 cylinders. After that race the motor stripped the timing gears and bent all of the pushrods. After 9 years of racing, only two times being freshened up the motor was done. Special thanks goes out to Sonic Speed and Machine from Queenstown Maryland. Without their support and expertise the power plant would not have lasted and performed so well for so long.
2008 will see some big changes to the Nemesis race truck: new motor/trans, more cage, bumpers and door bars will be added for wheel to wheel racing. The truck will be gone through from top to bottom including new wiring and relocated rear mounted radiator. Some minor chassis/suspension changes will also be performed.
<Recently we picked up the new engine for the racer from Sonic Speed and Machine. Owner Bill McCowan started with a 350 Chevy and selected components that yielded a reliable 430-450hp. Chassis dyno tuning will take place after the combination is installed in the truck. More power can be added in the future if needed.
A Turbo 350 transmission was chosen to replace the old tranny. The Transmission Clinic of Willimantic CT was chosen to rework the trans for the off-road racing the truck will see. Owner John has many years of experience of knowing how to build them right and make the transmissions last.
New videos were found in the Nemesis archives, the burnout video and is loaded here, Nemesis4x4.com's video gallery and to youtube.com. Build photos will be added in the near future.

Thunder on the Beach at Wildwood NJ: Nemesis was stressed and
cracked the main timing gear, etc. It still turned out well. Saturday evening Jack and Scott
let Erick race one of their trucks! Erick has raced other trucks before the Scout. How well did an International Scout driver do in a Dodge Ram?
How about taking 4th place for the evening! What an amazing and thrilling weekend. View the videos of this weekend from the

If you have any photos or videos from the races this year, give us a call.
Wouldn't you love to share them with us and see them on the site?
August, 2006from Team Nemesis
- Nemesis made the front page of July's
Four Wheeler Magazine. Although it was a small picture at the top of the front page, it's all good.
- Nemesis inside the back cover under the "Thrill Acts" section of
Andrew Palochko's Monster Trucks International 2006 Souvenir Program
- Nemesis is in the Carlisle All-Truck 2006 Nationals Official
Event Directory. The picture is of Erick in Nemesis from last year when he entered the Burnout
Contest. The Directory says that smokin' tires is "a favorite activity at Carlisle.
Competitors push their tires to the limit - and beyond. The more smoke, the
better." The
burnout video shows, 2 minutes of burning rubber with
smoke reaching far beyond the height of the bleachers.
- Nemesis raced in the
Monster Jam at
Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford Springs, CT the weekend of July
29-30th. Erick raced on Saturday evening and pulled a good round and slid
the racer around the final corner fluidly, placing 5th overall out of 18 trucks.
- Nemesis raced Memorial Day Weekend, in Frederica, DE for the EC4WDA
Flat-O-Rama.  It was an outstanding weekend. It's a great family
event. EC4WDA and the Delaware Four Wheelers sponsor a great event.
They do a great job and make it fun for everyone.
We have some pictures of Nemesis from the racing events, so click here.....

First off, I'd like to send out a special Thanks to Roy, Jeremy, Dan, Jamie, Jack,
Tammy, and A&R Motorsports - Kunkletown, PA. Without their hard
work and support I wouldn't have been able to get the truck ready to start the
racing season. Roy Burger and Jeremy Crone were instrumental in the
building of the door bars to ensure the Nemesis racer would be legal for this
STC event.
The latest of the Super Truck Challenge series (www.supertruckchallenge.com)
found its way to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA
last weekend. It was great to see familiar faces and friends like the STC
gang, the Team Psycho guys, the new Stinger Rodeo, and many of our East Coast
competitors
(http://groups.msn.com/EC4WDARegionB).
First round, on Friday evening, staged me against Todd Adams in his 358 Chevy
powered Jeep. The Nemesis Scout took the lead from the start and was in
front until the last corner. Todd crossed over into my lane around the
last turn and it forced me to back down to avoid a collision. Todd was
disqualified for crossing into my lane. Round two placed me against
Clayton Moore, an STC veteran. The round was extremely close until I had
to stop in the last corner to avoid hitting the cones. The track was very
tight, causing problems for most full size and longer wheel base trucks.
Clayton, in his short wheel base Got Mud Suzuki, was able to speed past me
taking the win.
I was eligible for a one-time buyback into the race, thanks to the STC buyback
program. This positioned Nemesis against Bill Lahr from Shamokan, PA.
Bill's 429 powered Jeep wasn't able to get past the Nemesis Scout and we
advanced to the next round to compete against Roger Cardot. Roger's truck
Bubba was the first winner of an STC event in Portland, IN. Roger was
fortunate enough to be brought back on Saturday morning as a Lucky Dog, having
been disqualified in two previous rounds by hitting cones on the race track.
It was a tight race with some light contact at the start, it being a
wheel-to-wheel race, however the Nemesis Scout was able to secure the win.
Roger is a tough racer and it was great to put him on the trailer.
Saturday morning opened up the floor of the PA Farm Show Complex to the kids of all ages
for the Super Truck Challenge Pit Party. The kids were encourage to
walk the floor and meet the drivers of the Monster Trucks, Racing Lawn Mowers
and our Tuff Trucks. I signed autographs on the books, shirts and flags. It's always a
pleasure to answer the kid's questions about the Nemesis racer, see the wonder
in their eyes and hear the enthusiasm in their voices.
Saturday night opened up to position me against Jeremy Crone from Allentown, PA.
Jeremy is an experienced East Coast Racer and has an STC event win under his
belt from WI. Unfortunately for Jeremy, he discovered a transmission
problem as he was pulling onto the track, leaving him with only 3rd gear and
costing him the race. Racing the legendary BND - Thomas Ray White would be
next on the agenda. It came down to the last turn and the wiley veteran
took the win by mere inches. Loosing to Thomas placed me in 5th position
for the weekend out of 38 hard core racers. Being a true competitor, I am
never satisfied with loosing, but am proud to finish so well against so many
quality racers.
Congratulations from our team goes out to Charlie Stolzfus for winning first
place!

Nemesis Racing Team would like to send a hearty "Thanks" out to the STC Team for
their efforts to coordinate such a fantastic event. We look forward racing
many more Super Truck Challenge events, a racing series for racer by racers.
Please check out the videos of the STC race.
